Dr. Patricia Falkenburg
*1961 in Mannheim/Germany, married, three children
molecular biologist, poet, visual artist
living in Pulheim near Cologne
Why poems? Why pictures?
There is no alternative. It so happened—seeds blown into brain,
growing— so now there is no alternative. Because in this world,
poetry is indispensible. Like music. Because art exploring the world
wants to be seen and heard. This, too, is indispensible. Like breath-
ing. In order not to forget it, the world around us.
Because poets, musicians, artists simply can’t help it.
May the Lord have mercy upon them!
